The original founders of Dalbello, Alessandro and Giovanna Dal Bello, perfected their trade in building ski boots by working in Switzerland since the 1960’s. Working in the industry, they enjoyed their trade, but they felt their creative talents were limited, so Dalbello was created and sold its first boots in 1974.
During the 70’s, new technologies were arising, crafting great innovation for the sport. Dalbello wished to push the boundaries of ski boot engineering and we saw the greatest feat to date, the use of plastic instead of the traditional leather. They invested in these new technologies so they could become one of the premier boot manufacturers in the world.
It wasn’t until the 80’s where they hired three internationally renowned skiers, one of which was Steve McKinney, who took out 2 world speed records in 1977 (195km/h) and one in 1982 (201km/h).
Since the early days we have seen Dalbello grow into an internationally renowned ski boot brand who challenged themselves to develop better and more creative ski boot designs. Now back in Italy, the brand is a pinnacle in the ski community.
