EXPERT ADVICE

CANTING STANCE ALIGNMENT

Have you ever felt that you can turn one way easier than the other?
A stance alignment may be what you need to improve your skiing.

A basic assessment is free with a boot purchase; if it is apparent that you may benefit from a full assessment, your fitter will make the appropriate arrangements with you. A full canting assessment includes analysis of the leg through it's movement planes, an upper cuff alignment and evaluation of the ski in relation to the snow.

Stance alignment is a method of fine-tuning the ski system from the ground up: the ski (including its tuning); the ski bindings, the ski boot, and the custom footbed (essential) to provide the skier with optimal dynamic balance.

Once the knee mass location is centred and flat ski is achieved, we can plane the correct angle into the bottom of your ski boots, we then use a very small plate on the sole of your boot to return the boots to D.I.N. specifications (industry binding and boot release standards).

We are one of the few shops in the country that align and plane ski boot sole to within ½ degree accuracy. Ring to make an appointment with Greta to see if a stance alignment could help you achieve your ski potential.
